About us

In 2013, Don and Rusty Rogers teamed up to create D & R Design, LLC. The brothers provide the best in customer service, custom design and fabrication, construction management and product completion in the industry, and enjoy working with each client to turn their vision into something amazing.

Rusty works directly with customers to nail down the design themes for each project, and Don selects the best method to make the design concepts come to life. Frequently Rusty’s concepts begin with a sketch on paper that Don translates into 2D drawings or 3D CAD models to gain customer approval before moving forward on each project.

Armed with a CNC plasma cutter, CNC wood carving machine and other precision tools — combined with decades of experience — D & R Design can turn any vision into a high-end reality. For inspiration for custom jobs, or to speed the process of semi-custom jobs, D & R Design has purchased catalogs of artwork that compliment both of these machines.

D & R Design specializes in providing unique design elements that contractors and architects can include in their plans. Some past projects include decorative trusses for interior and exterior applications, custom cabinetry and cabinet doors, and sliding barn doors — all with CNC carving options and custom artwork. Custom furniture in wood and steel can complete the look, and tie the architectural elements together.

The D and R Design name is an homage to the brothers’ step grandfather and uncle’s automotive repair business. Don and Rusty spent time in the shop as children, and learned a great deal about customer satisfaction, meticulous workmanship and doing the job right the first time from that family-owned business.

Don Rogers Biography

Don honed his expertise as a mechanical draftsman and designer in the aerospace industry. The attention to detail and level of perfection required in that field translates to very satisfied D&R Design customers. Every element in one of Don’s home or structural element projects is completed with a level of precision unmatched by the competition.

In addition to aerospace experience, Don has worked in the overhead sign and paper-making industries, as well as oilfield flare and thermal oxidizer manufacturing.

He partnered with his brother, Rusty, to create D & R Design, LLC in October 2013. The brothers teamed up to provide the best in customer service, design, construction management and product completion.

Don has spent 18 of his 23 years in the industry as a mechanical designer, using various CAD systems to produce drawings for components using traditional manufacturing and machining techniques. He later had the opportunity to create CAD drawings used in CNC machining of various components for boilers and burners. His CAD/CAM/CNC experience was furthered by purchasing a CNC plasma cutting table and CNC woodcarving table to bring his designs to life.

His experience is brought to bear on in the collaboration and synergy that is D & R Design.

Don has been married to his beautiful wife for more than 30 years, and has two daughters and one granddaughter.

Rusty Rogers Biography

Rusty has been a builder all his life, even as a child. For more than 30 years, he’s been a carpenter and builder. He’s completed homes, commercial buildings, houses of worship and metal buildings, to name a few.

During high school he studied drafting and architecture, but he found his true passion in woodworking class — working as an artist with wood as the medium. His art and shop teachers in high school encouraged his artistic development.

As an adult, Rusty got discouraged by the “starving artist” lifestyle, and began working in construction and home building to fuel his need to create. Soon after, he started his own business, incorporating his artistic talents into commercial construction and home building projects. He emphasizes the importance of incorporating the customer’s personality into each project.

Don and Rusty merged their talents to create D&R Design, a boutique design and build company in Eastern Oklahoma.

Rusty has been married to his wife, Kim, for 18 years, and has two children, and two stepsons and two beautiful granddaughters.
